Aber Falls, a waterfall reached by a walk through the Aber valley near Abergwyngregyn.
A 13th-century castle at the base of a valley, with the earlier 12th-century tower it replaced, Tomen Castell, standing just to its south-east.
A Roman fort built during governor Agricola's campaigns in AD 78, later reused by the Normans as a motte in the 11th century.
Built for a modest £8,190 by Edward I, Harlech withstood a siege before falling to Owain Glyndŵr in 1404, who made it his residence and headquarters, and was the last Royalist castle to surrender in the Civil War, the siege that gave us the song 'Men of Harlech'.
Built by Llywelyn the Great in the 1220s to guard south-west Gwynedd, expanded by Edward I after the death of Llywelyn ap Gruffudd before being burnt in a Welsh revolt and left to ruin.
A Victorian copper mine near Beddgelert, closed in 1903 and reopened decades later as an underground visitor attraction.
A wooded hillock in Snowdonia associated in medieval legend with the red and white dragons said to lie beneath it, one origin of Wales's own dragon symbol.
