Which national park has the most green lanes?
Of the England and Wales national parks, Peak District has the most lanes open to motorcycles on the Holloway map, 237 BOATs and UCRs inside its boundary.
Can you ride motorbikes in national parks?
Yes, on lanes with a legal right for motor vehicles, mainly BOATs and UCRs, the same as anywhere else in England and Wales. Being inside a national park doesn’t change that, but several park authorities can make their own Traffic Regulation Orders, so it’s worth checking a lane’s current status before you ride.
What about national parks in Scotland?
Scotland’s access law is different. There is no BOAT system and off-road motor vehicle use is broadly not allowed, so the Cairngorms and Loch Lomond and The Trossachs aren’t covered here.
