Devon's finest surviving stone circle, on Gidleigh Common near Dartmoor, originally made up of as many as 70 stones and aligned so the midsummer sun sets over its tallest stone.
Devon's only surviving Neolithic dolmen, three granite pillars near Drewsteignton supporting a heavy capstone, which collapsed in 1862 and was re-erected the same year.
A Dartmoor Bronze Age ceremonial complex of stone rows, standing stones and a rare fourfold concentric stone circle, including the Long Stone, recorded as a parish boundary marker as early as 1240.
